  • Tried To Study...

And managed about half an hour!

Read four pages for History essay (4000 words, due on 15th May!); fell asleep; woken up half an hour later; read another page; Came downstairs to blog, and have been here for the past hour! 88|

Suppose I should be going back to the books...

Hmm. Sounds like a good plan! ;)

  • Random Facts Courtesy Of The Independent

    The Indy had a free random facts book, with today's edition. Just thought I should share a couple;

There are four aardvarks in the UK: two at Colchester Zoo and two at Suffolk Wildlife Park.

So, no-one's thought of breeding them, yet!

City in which you are most likely to have an accident at work: Birmingham

There's a solution to that; don't work in Birmingham!

In the 2005 Durex Global Sex Survey, 22% of adults claimed to have had an extra-marital affair.

What's the point in monogamy, then?!

291 million Africans - out of a total population of 703 million - survive on less than $1 a day.

Don't worry, Bob Geldof will sort it out!

Number of centenarians in UK in 2005: about 10,000

    Why aren't they dying?!

Cathay Pacific is the world's favourite airline.

    Not British Airways, then!

Christopher Muat,88, from Liverpool, received an order stopping him from turning up his TV to an unreasonable volume, shouting, swearing or making "sarcastic" remarks.

Should we stop breathing, if we don't want to get an ASBO?

    :)) 88|

  • Get Some Work Done!

Okay, stop procrastinating, and get down to doing some revision! Political Thought first! (Groan) Lets see; revise Marx and Rousseau, because they are easy to remember!

Marx: Main argument; economics. Goes on (and on, and on!) about capitalism! :)) Revise dialectics and false consciousness, as well! (That sounds easy to understand!). ;)

  • Procrastination And Weird Dreams

Okay, I will do some work after I type this post! (That's the plan, anyway!) ;)

The night before last I had this weird dream, and I think I may have been dying in it. I was lying on a sofa, in a room I do not recognise. My Dad's best friend was next to me on the sofa. Okay, the weird part! When I got up from the sofa (still in the dream), there was something that looked like blood (or tomato ketchup!), on the cushion where my head had been! And that is all I can remember! 88|

    Hope it's not a premonition!

The music selection in the gym was marginally better, this morning. We had Radio 1 instead of Kiss FM (That's awful R&B-type music, not the '70s Rock Band!). Needed that gym visit; haven't been for nearly two weeks! :D Feeling very good, now I've been!

  • Essays, Alcohol And Chocolate!

Now that Lent is over, I could enjoy a glass of wine today! Went down very nicely, too! :b

Also discovered that it is easier to write an essay on Hobbes' view of human nature, after a glass or two of red wine. (And, whilst consuming an Easter Egg!). Makes Hobbes seem less depressing, and makes the 'creative' process easier! ;) Now have a finished Political Thought essay sitting on my PC, awaiting corrections! :D

Now all I have to do, is two more essays and two exams! Oh crap! Exams! :-/

  • Stupid Machines!

New Doctor Who; excellent! :D David Tennant looks great as The Doctor.

Went to Sainsbury's, this evening, to stock up on some food that we won't be able to get tomorrow because Sainsbury's is closed on Easter Sunday! :## I'm so used to it being open on a Sunday! :**:

Sainsbury's have these Self Checkout things; which will be great, if they actually worked! Today, there were only two working, and the one that I chose to use had run out of notes and couldn't give me a five pound note! :##

    What annoys me about Self Checkouts;

    1. "Unexpected item in the bagging area" All I've placed in the bagging area is the plastic carrier bag, and the item I have just scanned! I have not dumped a Nuclear Bomb in there! :##

    2. Please take your items" (Repeated after five seconds, while you are picking up your change and shoving it into your wallet) What are you going to do; self destruct in five seconds?!

    3. The notes HAVE to be near to perfect as possible. They do not accept notes that have been used a billion times!

    4. The Saturday edition of The Independent, for some inexplicable reason, is deemed by the machines to be unsuitable for people under sixteen. Do The Daily Hate Mail and The Sun have the same restrictions?!

    Ideal warning messages for Self Checkouts;

    1. "I didn't expect you to put the butter in the bagging area, after you scanned it!

    2. "Can you please remove that missile from the bagging area, Sainsbury's do not sell it, and therefore, I do not recognise it!"

    3. Please insert cash. If said cash is not crisp, fresh and straight out of the machine; we cannot accept it. And, no, we are not sorry! HAHAHAHA!"

    :))

  • Poem About War

    Unknown Victims

    Think about,
    The civilians.
    The ones killed,
    In this invasion.

    Think about,
    How many dead.
    Did you count?
    Maybe they're irrelevant.

    Think about it,
    There must be
    Thousands.
    And more than three.

    Are their lives,
    Worthless?
    Are American people,
    Valuable?

    Do you really care,
    About the innocent?
    Or is this simply,
    A quest of self-interest?

  • Poem About Death

    Yellow Room
    The walls,
    Ochre-Brown.
    Your skin,
    Pale-yellow.

    Hands,
    Stone cold.
    Body,
    Perfectly still.

    Searching,
    For movement.
    Hoping,
    Life still in you.

    No,
    Nothing moving.
    No,
    Life left you.

  • Essay And Blogging

University library is open over the Easter holidays, :D but only from 10 until 5, and closed on the weekends and bank holidays! :##

Sitting in the university computer room, typing an essay. Why I can't type it on my computer at home, I don't know. Maybe I like this place! ;) (Why!?!)

    Umm. No you don't, George!

"Those who enter the country illegally violate the law."
    —Tucson, Ariz., Nov. 28, 2005

They wouldn't be violating the law, if it wasn't illegal!

"I think younger workers—first of all, younger workers have been promised benefits the government—promises that have been promised, benefits that we can't keep. That's just the way it is."—Washington, D.C., May 4, 2005

Hands up, if you actually know what he is talking about!

"After the bombing, most Iraqis saw what the perpetuators of this attack were trying to do."—(On the bombing of the Golden Mosque of Samarra in Iraq) March 13, 2006, Washington, D.C.

"Perpetuators"!? Would that be George and Tony? What are they trying to do?

    "The Complete Bushisms"
