  • "Borrowed" From Jelly Beanz

    1. Do you schedule sex?
Sex?! Don't have any to schedule!

    2. When do you shower, morning or night?
    Usually in the morning.

    3. What do you read on the john?
If I read anything, it would be a book. At the moment, it's The Moomins.

    4. Do you spend a lot of time styling your hair in the morning?
    No. Two minutes is enough.

    5. When do you go to bed?
    Whenever I feel like it!

    6. What is your favorite nighttime ritual?
Setting my radio alarm, and checking to make sure I set it. (I'm wondering if I have OCD!)

    7. Do you hook up with friends during the week?
    Depends if it's term time.

    8. When do you start your day?
Whenever I get up; sometime between 7am and 11am.

    9. Do you eat breakfast on the fly?
    No.

    And the final daily ritual....

    10. Is brushing your teeth essential to starting your day?
    No.

  • I Decided To Take A Walk....

To get myself out of the house, and out of New Barnet, but also because I needed to buy Big Sister a birthday present.

    1. It's cold and miserable outside. (And my car's being serviced)
    2. Pop Scissor Sisters into my portable CD player (the one Dad didn't want), and pull my hoodie over my head. Walk down the run wondering if people are going to run screaming from my Chavvy attire. They don't! :D
    3. Randomly meet some girl from Uni whose name I don't know.
    4. Find a nice little shop, containing lots of second hand stuff. ;) Whilst searching for a present, notice mugs with Royal Mugs on. Try to avoid looking at them.
    5. Find a present for Big Sister.
    6. Leave shop. Rain is p*ssing down. Up goes hoodie and on go fingerless gloves (I know it's May; please tell Mother Nature that!).
    7. Walk home to the sound of the Scissor Sisters. Much more lively than reality.

Why do I write so many lists?!

  • Felt Like Some Placebo

Not sure if it makes me feel better, but it's a great tune! :D

  • Poem About TV News

A post on Steph's blog reminded me of this poem that I wrote at the weekend. Also related to the fact that I hate television news.

    Magazine News

    Glossy and sparkly.
    On every hour.
    Pictures and emotions;
    On every channel.

    Superficial concern;
    Over missing child,
    Or dead princess.
    And then forget.

    Designed to excite,
    Anger, or tears.
    Neglects the brain,
    And forgotten later.

    Brought to lounge,
    All day.
    Pictures that,
    Anger or upset.

    Make us feel,
    Part of story.
    Like we know
    The victim.

    The glossy pictures,
    And glossy stories.
    Beemed to homes;
    Making us experts.

  • 7 Facts Game

The one named Phinebooty has tagged me to reveal 7 facts about myself. (How am I going to manage this?!)

    1. I only managed a D in GCSE English, yet still managed to get into University. 8|
    2. Television news makes me angry; especially ITV news, which talks excessively about bloody celebrities. >:-(
    3. I'm not sure if I love myself (see previous post).
    4. I used to hate having baths, or personal hygiene in general; something other kids at school would always pick up on (but never noticed when I did actually wash).
    5. I am unable to speak to men that I fancy; I'm terrified of being laughed at.
    6. I also fear being alone, without any friends.
    7. I have been so drunk on occasions (like last Tuesday!), that I have been incapable of doing anything.

Oh dear. Those were self pitying facts.

Not sure who to tag now, as everyone seems to have done this already.

  • Sounds Like He's Singing About Me

Sounds silly I know, but reading the lyrics and thinking about myself makes me realise that I don't properly love myself.

Tune is on YouTube, if you're interested, and song is on his website.

    Wild Angel (Joshua Kadison)

    Didnīt anybody ever tell you
    that youīre made of stars?
    Didnīt anybody ever tell you
    how wonderful you are?
Didnīt anybody ever look into your eyes
    and see the whole world
    spinninī around, spinninī around?

    Strange days weīre living in.
Sometimes it seems the signalīs getting low
keep picking up waves of love
    on your human radio.

    Wild angel, donīt you think
    itīs time now?
    Wild angel, donīt you think
    itīs time now?
Donīt you think its time now
    to love yourself?

    Didnīt anybody ever tell you
    that youīre made of space?
    Didnīt anybody ever tell you
    that youīre filled with grace?
Didnīt anybody ever sing in your ear
the sweet sounding song of yourself,
    song of yourself?

    Strange days weīre living in.
Sometimes it seem the signalīs getting low
keep picking up waves of love
    on your human radio.

    Wild angel, donīt you think
    itīs time now?
    Wild angel, donīt you think
    itīs time now?
Donīt you think its time now
    to love yourself?

  • I Like These Things When They Tell The Truth!

    *Your Five Factor Personality Profile*

    Extroversion:

    You have medium extroversion.
You're not the life of the party, but you do show up for the party.
Sometimes you are full of energy and open to new social experiences.
But you also need to hibernate and enjoy your "down time."

Not the life of the party, just hang around with my friends and a Jack Daniels!

    Conscientiousness:

    You have medium conscientiousness.
You're generally good at balancing work and play.
When you need to buckle down, you can usually get tasks done.
But you've been known to goof off when you know you can get away with it.

Yes. I spent my school days "goofing off". :))

    Agreeableness:

    You have medium agreeableness.
You're generally a friendly and trusting person.
But you also have a healthy dose of cynicism.
You get along well with others, as long as they play fair.

I'm cynical?! Must be because I studied politics!

    Neuroticism:

    You have medium neuroticism.
You're generally cool and collected, but sometimes you do panic.
Little worries or problems can consume you, draining your energy.
Your life is pretty smooth, but there's a few emotional bumps you'd like to get rid of.

Why would I want to get rid of the emotional bumps?! ;) (Actually, I probably would!)

    Openness to experience:

Your openness to new experiences is medium.
You are generally broad minded when it come to new things.
But if something crosses a moral line, there's no way you'll approve of it.
You are suspicious of anything too wacky, though you do still consider creativity a virtue.

I blame my short attention span! :))

    *Your Mind is 45% Cluttered*

Your mind is starting to get cluttered, and as a result, it's a little harder for you to keep focused.
Try to let go of your pettiest worries and concerns. The worrying is worse than the actual problems!

    How Cluttered is Your Mind?
    http://www.blogthings.com/howclutteredisyourmindquiz/

I know, my attention span is pretty short (ooh, the clock's ticking!), and perhaps I do need to stop worrying about something so small. Yeah, I'll do it later! :))

  • I Am NOT A Purveyor Of Weird Ebay!

Just thought I'd make that clear. :D

Dad's asked me to list some items on the amazingly weird world of ebay. The first item is innocent (and unremarkable) enough; however the second item is best not shown to any small children. It's...horrible!

[Make sure children, Trade Unionists and anyone else who might be offended, are out of the room before you click the link!]

    :))

  • It's All Over!

Three years of hard work (yes, really!), fun and deadlines ended today at midday. Had EU Politics exam; it didn't go as well as Globalism last Thursday! Hope I answered the question in the way he wanted, and not just irrelevant crap!

Anyway, what shall I do with myself now?
    1. Drink this glass of wine that Dad has placed in front of me.
    2. Have a break before I start looking for work.
    3. Apply for that Editorial Assistant job that the Union are going to advertise!
    4. Save up enough money for that MA in Journalism.

    :D

Cheers, everyone! Here's to me getting that 2:1!

    :>>

  • The Weather's Beautiful....

And I'm sitting inside (No, I'm not going out into the garden!).

I have revision to do. Well, been doing revision, but need to do some more. Not sure I'll be able to remember enough on Monday morning! :(

Fortunately it's my last exam, so come noon on Monday, I should be a happy girl. (That's if I don't screw up completely!).

Where's Subville gone?! I know she was talking about deleting, but I thought she'd changed her mind!

  • I'm Almost Finished!

Dissertation has been proof read, bound and ready to hand in to the Enfield (I know, not exciting anymore Jenni!) Student Office, tomorrow morning. :>>

Had the Globalism exam this morning. Managed to answer the question, and brain felt like it had a workout. Yay! :D

Just been reminded by a post on Mymah's Blog about where I was this time last year. Sitting by a fence outside the Stade de France, before the Champions League final.

    Despite the result, that was a great occasion;

    1. Watching the Barcelona fans setting off firecrackers under the Eiffel Tower.
    2. Getting to the ground four hours before kick off, and still having to search for match programmes.
    3. Actually believing that we would win the thing.
    4. The all round good nature between Arsenal and Barcelona fans.

Oh, and I was pleased to see Sevilla win the UEFA Cup last night. Look, I have Spanish Football on the brain!

    :))

  • Ouch!

That decides how my head feels right now after reading through half of my dissertation, and checking for mistakes! XX(

    Have an exam tomorrow morning. Hopefully I should be able to remember the following;

    1. The development of human rights law, the problems with implementing it and the criticism that human rights is a western idea.
    2. Why migration has become so significant. The "types" of migrant (eg, refugees). The effects of migration.
    3. How globalisation has exaserbated health problems, as well as relieved them. Also that it's unclear if it actually has, because not all the previous problems are recorded.

Not too bad. Would help if my brain wasn't aching from dissertation.

What have I learnt? Nothing is completely apolitical. (In other words, Cazza, it is possible to spaghettify everything!)

    :))

  • That Was Crap!

Sums up our season; millions of chances, and still manage to only draw! :**:

Baptista: Don't take penalties. In fact, don't go anywhere near the spot, whenever a penalty is awarded! >:-(

Lucky Liverpool equalising right at the end; you'd think Charlton would want to go down on a high?! They'll be drinking Coca-Cola next season, with Sheffield United! :))

  • How Have I Not Blogged Since Sunday?!?

    88|

    Oh. Dear. Time flies, and work level stays the same. Haven't had much to blog about, anyway. Meant to blog about the Womens FA Cup final, but forgot. Suppose I should do it now;

    1. No diving, very few reckless tackles - the men could learn something from watching!
    2. Not afraid to shoot. Don't try to walk the ball into the net! (Yes, that is the Arsenal Ladies I'm talking about).
    3. Arsenal Ladies ensuring that the trophy cabinet at The Emirates remains full.

    Anyway, that's the essential comment on Arsenal Ladies finished with. Now study news;

    1. Typed a draft of my dissertation, and have received feedback from my supervisor. :D
    2. Erm...started revising, and have history essay ready to type.

Other than that, a pretty quiet week...

  • Small, Cheating Club With Money!

And we denied them the title! :>>

Okay, it's gone to ManUre; but at least Mourinho and his rubles didn't touch the trophy this year!

    Anyway, the match;

    1. What?! Cashley not playing? They're just scared of the abuse we're going to give him!
    2. "Welcome to the Emirates". Chorus of boos and whistles! :))
    3. Yay! Win penalty just before half time!
    4. Notice that the Chelski fans don't sing. (Like Bolton and Wigan!)
    5. Play like Arsenal; have millions of chances, and still the score is 1-0!
    6. Crap Chelski equalise! Fortunately, a second is offside! :))
    7. Final whistle. Mock Chelski fans, and Mourinho.
    8. Go to Coronet on Holloway Road with Jenni and her ex. Have several JD and Cokes. Go somewhere in Leicester Square; have one more.
    9. Realise, as I'm walking back to Leicester Square tube, that I'm possibly at my happiest, most secure state of mind for a while. (That will change at my next period!).

  • Family Parties - Alcohol Is Essential

No, I'm not drunk; just slightly tipsy! Although, only eating one Danish pastry between 7am and 2pm probably didn't help much! :-/

    Anyway, granddad's 80th Birthday party;

    1. Saw relatives that I don't usual see; despite some of them living very local!

    2. Witnessed my five year old cousin N beating everyone up with birthday balloons. She even managed to beat me.

    3. Listened to one of Granddad's poem (read by his lady, Ann). Discovered that he even has a website.

    4. Explained to everyone that I'm aiming for a 2:1 at university, I have two weeks left and no plans for after!

    Afterwards;

    1. Worked out that there is at least a thirty year age gap between my oldest and youngest cousins.

    2. Watched Doctor Who. Poor thing; he's so lonely! :'(

  • Now To Drag Another 2,000 Words Out Of This Subject...

Dissertation moving nicely along; have another 1500-2000 words to write before I can show my supervisor the draft.

    Okay, so far I have learnt;

    1. Despite negative associations, nationalism isn't all bad; it can unite people from all social groups (and that's a good thing, yes?).

    2. Football can be used for all sorts of political purposes; like protest against a fascistic regime. Makes the football culture surrounding English teams seem rather boring. (All we sing about is hating Sp*rs/Chelski/ManUre, etc!). :))

And there's more to come as well! :D

  • 600 Words, Writers Block and I'm Hungry!

Okay, I have nearly six hundred words typed; battling against writers block all the time. Now I'm hungry, and I need to read a bit more.

Interesting how football is apolitical, but at the same time closely related to politics..

    :D
