Dissertation moving nicely along; have another 1500-2000 words to write before I can show my supervisor the draft.
Okay, so far I have learnt;
1. Despite negative associations, nationalism isn't all bad; it can unite people from all social groups (and that's a good thing, yes?). 
2. Football can be used for all sorts of political purposes; like protest against a fascistic regime. Makes the football culture surrounding English teams seem rather boring. (All we sing about is hating Sp*rs/Chelski/ManUre, etc!). 
And there's more to come as well!

Nationalism is only tainted because of how people have used it, it tends to be used when patriotism goes too far.
